Description:
A stone artifact in a zoomorphic form resembling a crouching amphibian. A distinct spiral "tridatu" pattern is visible on the dorsal surface, a strong indicator of hand-carved craftsmanship from the Medang to Majapahit era.
The surface is 80% covered in natural soil patina and oxidation, evidence of long-term burial. The condition is intact with no restoration.
Probable Function:
Based on iconography and find context, this artifact is believed to have served a ritual purpose in an agrarian society. It is likely associated with fertility rites, the worship of Dewi Sri, or as a talisman to ward off pestilence during the Hindu-Buddhist period in ancient Java.
