THE KING'S SON | MAJAPAHIT EMPIRE
A Majapahit bronze of the Anak Raja, or son of the king.
Images of the Anak Raja were popular during the Majapahit
era and there are known other examples in bronze, as well as
in gold, silver and terracotta.
This bronze comes from central java and dated from th 15th century
of the Majapahit Dynasty.
The Anak Raja is always rendered as a fat and happy little guy adorned
with arm and ankle bracelets, belt and neclace.
He is also always adorned with sereval bells allover his body which would
help to keep track of his wareabouts.
some variations have him bald with just a tuff of hair on the top of his head,
and others show him with a full head of hair, like this one.
